In Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls which is the most spectacular waterfall in the world is located midway in Victoria Falls National Park in Hwange District at the border between Zambia to the north and Zimbabwe to the south a long the course of the mighty Zambezi River. Victoria Falls National Park together with Zambezi National Park cover an area of 56,000 hectares. The northern border of the park is formed by the great Zambezi River and this most famous and magnificent waterfall can be viewed from either side of these two neighbouring countries. The ever-flowing Main Falls are within Zimbabwe and approximately two-thirds of the falls are on the Zimbabwean side affording it the lion’s share of the best viewpoints. The Victoria Falls Bridge across the Zambezi River connects Zimbabwe and Zambia and carries both automobile and pedestrian traffic.
