Day 1

Day 1: Nairobi/Amboseli

Depart Nairobi the “place of cool waters” in Maasai language on a scheduled flight to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro the highest point in the African continent and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. You will be met at Amboseli airstrip by your safari guide in 4x4 safari vehicle. Enjoy a brief game drive on the way to Amboseli Serena Lodge for check in and refreshments. Amboseli Serena Lodge enjoys a uniquely privileged position at the heart of this world-famous national reserve providing very clear and uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli Serena is surrounded by the vast and beautiful landscape of Amboseli National Park and all the rooms provide a full immersion into life in the untamed bush. The lodge’s décor pays homage to the bright colors and shapes of Maasai warriors and accommodation consists of luxurious Maasai Manyatta-themed rooms and suites. All rooms are secluded within a grove of acacia trees, looking out over the golden savannah plains, offering breathtaking views. Close by are a series of emerald green swamps which are fed by the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro providing sources of water to huge numbers of wallowing elephants, giraffe, zebras and plains game.

Day 2

Amboseli Game Reserve

Today enjoy game drives in this magnificent park in specially adapted open-sided 4x4 safari vehicle. These provide the perfect way to view huge variety of wildlife found in this famous park. Amboseli comprises of grove of acacia trees and golden savannah plains and its unique location at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro combined with its excellent opportunities to view wide variety of wildlife makes it one of the most visited game parks in Kenya. Amboseli has an endless underground water supply filtered through thousands of feet of volcanic rock from Mount Kilimanjaro’s ice cap which funnel into two clear water springs in the heart of the park. With grasslands crossing Kenya and Tanzania border, this park is renowned and a popular choice to get close to large herds of free-ranging African elephants. There are over 900 elephants in Amboseli as well as huge herds of wildebeests and many other animals including giraffe, lion, monkey, zebra, buffalos, jackals, hyena and antelopes. The name "Amboseli" comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust", and the park's Observation Hill provides some of the most magnificent sunsets over Kilimanjaro.

Day 3

Amboseli/Wilson/Samburu

Breakfast and enjoy game viewing on the way to Amboseli Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. At Wilson Airport connect another domestic flight to Samburu Game Reserve in the Northern Frontier District. With a short game drive on the way, you will be transferred to Ashnil Samburu Camp for check in to your luxurious tent overlooking the mighty Ewaso Nyiro River. Ashnil Samburu is located in a rugged landscape on a river bank surrounded by doum palms and other indigenous trees offering great natural scenery. The camp is set south of the river in Buffalo Springs Game Reserve offering unrivalled access to excellent game viewing. Buffalo Springs takes its name from an oasis of crystal clear water and is separated from Samburu Reserve by Ewaso Nyiro River and is less hilly, dense and very attractive. Later enjoy afternoon game drive to view huge variety of wildlife found in this magnificent area. Not only is the park home to iconic animals such as elephants, lions, and leopards, but it's also home to the Samburu Special Five, a quintet of five animals found nowhere else in Kenya namely, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, long-necked Gerenuk and Grevy's Zebra.

Day 4

Samburu Game Reserve

In company of your safari guide, enjoy game drives in expansive Samburu and Buffalo Springs. This huge area plays host to large herds of elephant. Other unique wildlife specifies are also very common sightings in this part of the wilderness. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Maasai. The landscape is rugged and dramatic against a backdrop of volcanic mountains, gaunt hills and withered scrub trees punctuate the sparse and dry terrain. The Ewaso Nyiro River which is the lifeline of this area runs along the southern boundary dividing Samburu Game Reserve from Buffalo Springs Reserve. The river is a great point of concentration and interest to both visitors and wildlife. It forms the lifeline of this great reserve, and most animals cannot keep away from it as they come to quench their thirst from the river. In the dry season, elephants use their tusks to dig deep into the dry riverbeds of the river unearthing precious water. This water creates a green oasis and draws wildlife in great numbers to the banks. Crocodile and hippo share the river with the many small herds of elephant which bathe and frolic in the muddy brown waters during the heat of the day before returning later to browse on the lush vegetation of the riverine forest.

Day 5

Samburu/Nairobi/Great Rift Valley/Lake Nakuru

Depart Samburu on a scheduled flight back to Nairobi. Met at Wilson Airport and transferred to the iconic Carnivore Restaurant for lunch. Thereafter drive to Lake Nakuru National Park with a brief stop at the viewpoint for stunning views of the Great Rift Valley with its lakes and volcanic terrain. Afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park which has recently earned international reputation as an important haven for endangered wildlife species particularly the Rothschild giraffe, the black and white rhinos, tree-climbing lions, zebra, gazelles, waterbuck and buffalo.
Lake Nakuru is encompassed by this majestic park and is renowned for its incredibly large flocks of flamingo which literally turn the lake pink.
Overnight at The Cliff, a luxurious camp perched at the top of 100 metre high rock facing the lake. Each tent is built on solid foundations at the edge of the cliff and faces the lake allowing guests 180 degree views of this panoramic paradise and yet maintaining total privacy. As the sun goes down, take time to visit the gym and enjoy a soothing massage in the spa or just relax by the infinity pool with a cold drink.

Day 6

Lake Nakuru/Naivasha/Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After early breakfast depart for Loldia Airstrip near Lake Naivasha for your scheduled departure flight to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Met at OL Kiombo Airstrip by your dedicated safari driver guide and with a game drive on the way, you will be transferred to Ilkeliani Camp for check in and refreshments. Ilkeliani is set in a very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere and provides unforgettable game viewing with experienced guides taking both parents and kids out for exciting safari outings. The camp is nestled in a river glade in an area favourite for elephants coming to drink from the Talek River. It's set right on the banks of this river with all tents built on a raised position overlooking the river with commanding views of Maasai Mara Game Reserve across. All the tents are well spaced out ensuring maximum privacy. Each tent is carefully sited under its own cluster of shady indigenous trees giving guests a true feel of being out in the wilderness. The camp is surrounded by forested woodland, ever-green vegetation and a myriad of wildlife.
After a delightful lunch, its time for the afternoon game drive in Maasai Mara the ancestral home to the Maasai tribe and the most famous wildlife sanctuary in Kenya.

Day 7

Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Whole day game drive in Maasai Mara with picnic lunch. Maasai Mara is the most famous safari destination in Kenya where over 450 species of animals have been recorded. Here you will easily see lions, rhinos, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard and all kinds of antelopes. Visit Mara River where thousands of wildebeest and zebra are attacked by crocodiles as they attempt to cross this mighty river during the annual "Great Migration" between Tanzania and Kenya. The migration is today one of the natural world’s most astonishing phenomena. Each year nearly two million wildebeest and accompanying large numbers of zebra, and smaller numbers of Grant's gazelle, Thompson's gazelle, eland and impala trek from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara and back again in search of fresh grazing. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah, lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. The migration involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. Viewing these vast herds on the move is always unforgettable sight. This experience is rated as one of the most spectacular natural events.

Maasai Mara/Nairobi/Departure

This morning witness a spectacular sunrise over the endless rolling plains of the Maasai Mara as you drive from the camp and embark on early morning game drive. This will give you the last chance to view lion, cheetah or leopard hunting in the early hours before daybreak. The diversity, variety and abundance of wildlife in Maasai Mara is just unbelievable. Breakfast and thereafter set out to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Wilson Airport_Nairobi at the end of your great family getaway in Kenya.
