Day 3

Lake Manyara/Serengeti

This morning depart for Serengeti National Park. On the way you will make a brief stop for picnic lunch at OL Dupai Gorge, where DR Leakey discovered the fossils of mankind’s earliest ancestors. Here, Paleoanthropologists have found hundreds of fossilized bones and stone tools in the area dating back millions of years leading them to conclude that humans evolved in Africa. Olduvai is a misspelling of OL Dupai, a Maasai word for a wild sisal plant that grows in the area. The gorge is located in the Great Rift Valley between the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. Proceed on with your journey to Serengeti arriving on time for afternoon game drive. Overnight at Serengeti Tortilis Camp. The location of this camp allows easy access to one of the best game viewing areas in the park. Guest service here is very personalized and the staff are all very friendly, helpful and will do everything possible to make your visit the most memorable experience in this part of Serengeti.

Day 4

Serengeti National Park

Today enjoy game drives in the Serengeti which is internationally renowned as one of the most famous wildlife areas in the world and home to incredible herds of wildebeest and other grazing animals. Serengeti in Maasai language means “endless plains". Located in north west of Tanzania, Serengeti is the ultimate ‘wildlife show’ on earth and best known for its unequalled natural beauty and diverse wildlife. It supports a magnificent diversity and abundance of animals from the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and black rhino to giraffe, impala, kongoni, topi and eland. Serengeti’s unique combination of diverse habitats enables it to support more than 30 species of large herbivores and nearly 500 species of birds. Its landscape originally formed by volcanic activity has been sculptured by the concerted action of wind, rain and sun. It now varies from open grass plains in the south, savannah with scattered acacia trees in the centre, hilly wooded grassland in the north to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west. Small rivers, lakes and swamps are scattered throughout. It's most famous for its predators that include lion, cheetah and leopard and other predators such as serval cats, wild dogs, jackals and spotted hyenas.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a World Heritage Site in the Crater Highlands of Tanzania. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. Here grass steppes and acacia forests are home to almost all the animal species found in the East African Savannah. In only a few hours you will have the chance of spotting the entire big five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. After game viewing, drive to Endoro Lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.
