Nairobi, Tsavo, Lewa, Maasai Mara


Day 1: Wilson/Chyulu Hills

Depart Wilson Airport early morning and fly to Tsavo West National Park. Arrival transfer to OL Donyo Lodge for refreshments and check in to your luxurious cottage. OL Donyo Lodge is perched on a hillside on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills, between Amboseli and Tsavo National Parks. The Chyulu Hills are located about 150 km east of the Kenya Rift. The hills consists of several hundred small flows and cones. Volcanism in the area started about 1.4 million years ago in the northern parts of the hills, and over time the volcanism propagated towards the southeast. These volcanoes are still considered active, since their last two eruptions (Shaitani and Chainu) occurred in 1856. Within the hills is the Leviathan Cave, one of the longest lava tubes in the world. The Chyulu Hills do not have any permanent rivers, but rainfall on hills feeds the Tsavo and Galana rivers and Mzima Springs on the surrounding plains. Day 2: Chyulu Hills

Today, accompanied by your experienced guide, explore the 275,000 acre Mbirikani Group Ranch, on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills National Park with unrivalled full views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Here, Maasai herdsmen, live in complete harmony with nature and wildlife. The ranch is home to incredible and very diverse and spectacular habitats. Guest activities are never ending, ranging from day and night game drives, to horseback riding, nature walks, Maasai cultural visits and mountain biking. Overnight at OL Donyo Lodge

Day 3: Amboseli/Lewa Downs

Lewa Wilderness Lodge

Early breakfast and transfer to the airstrip to catch your scheduled flight back to Nairobi. At Wilson Airport, connect another scheduled flight to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Lewa Downs has been an exclusive safari destination for many years, but was made famous when Britain’s Prince William proposed to Catherine Middleton there in 2010. It is considered to be one of the greatest conservation success stories in the world and is a model for sustainable tourism. Another event the Conservancy is famous for is the Safaricom Marathon, an annual event held to raise money for the Conservancy’s environmental initiativesMet on arrival at the airstrip by your driver guide. With a short game drive on the way, you will be transferred to Lewa Wilderness Lodge for check in. This stunning lodge is spread out along a hillside, overlooking to vast wilderness. Buffet lunch will be served in the open-air dining room next to the swimming pool area. Relax in your cottage before embarking on an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Lewa Wilderness Lodge

Day 4: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

Today enjoy game drives in Lewa Conservancy. This unique and well managed conservancy offers some of the best game viewing opportunities in Kenya. During day and night game drives, guests to Lewa enjoy the most amazing wildlife and huge concentrations of lion, leopard, jackal, elephant and Grevy’s zebra. Other guest activities here include horseback riding, walking safaris accompanied by Maasai guides and camel riding. Those seeking the most ultimate adventure of their lives have access to an open-cockpit biplane. This gives unmatched eagle’s eye view of the conservancy, wildlife and otherwise inaccessible gorges. Overnight at Lewa Wilderness Lodge

Day 5: Laikipia/Maasai Mara

Breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Maasai Mara Game Reserve the highlight of your trip and the most outstanding wildlife sanctuary in Kenya. Arrival transfer to Mara Plains Camp, a high quality luxury camp and offers sweeping views across the Mara. Guests here enjoy wide variety camp activities and game drives. The is located in a dense forest right inside the 30,000 acre Olare Motorogi Wildlife Conservancy  which has the highest density of free-roaming wild animals in Africa. Go in search of lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, rhino and much more.  Overnight at Mara Plains Camp

Day 6: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Today enjoy whole day game drive with picnic lunch in Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Maasai Mara is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries and punctuated by marshes and forests. Located in South West of Kenya, Maasai Mara is world famous for its 580 square miles of land where over 95 kinds of mammals and 570 types of bird live and renowned for its huge population of lions. The reserve is home to all the “big five” and supports the highest density of wildlife to be seen anywhere. Overnight at Mara Plains Camp

Day 7: Maasai Mara/Nairobi/Depature

Early morning game drive in the conservancy before breakfast. Then set out to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Wilson airport, Nairobi arriving at 1215hrs at the end your safari.
