Arusha, Lake Natron, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, Tarangire


Day 1: Arusha/Lake Natron

Depart Arusha and drive to OL Doinyo Lengai located to the south of Lake Natron, arriving for lunch. “OL Doinyo Lengai” means “The Mountain of God” in the Maasai language. OL Doinyo Lengai is an active volcano which is part of the volcanic system of the East African Rift Valley. The volcano has immense ecological, geological and cultural value. This afternoon enjoy a nature walk to the shore of Lake Natron. Overnight at Ngare Sero Lake Natron Camp. Ngare Sero Lake Natron Camp is located on the southern end of the lake on an old volcanic lava flow. The unique location of the camp offers superb panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley in all directions. The camp comprises of six tents all named after the surrounding mountains and lie parallel to the fresh water streams flowing into Lake Natron. All the tents all full size beds, table, chairs and ensuite bathrooms. The main tent called the Boma is where breakfast lunch and dinner are served and it’s real nice place to relax as you explore this beautiful area

Day 2: OL Donyo Lengai/Lake Natron

Visits to Lake Natron & OL Donyo Lengai and the surrounding region mainly focus on remoteness, the unique scenery, beautiful landscapes, spectacular escarpments and volcanic mountains, one of which is active. Lake Natron is a soda lake is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world. The lake is a haven for literally thousands of lesser flamingo and it is one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth. Lake Natron is famous for very interesting nature walks. You can walk out across the baked mud to the shores of the great soda lake itself to view hot water springs and thousands of flamingo, drive to the Ngare Sero Gorge then walk to the waterfalls and along the Ngare Sero River, mountain trekking or visit to an authentic Maasai homestead. Day 3: Lake Natron/Serengeti National Park

Breakfast and depart for Serengeti National Park arriving for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Overnight at Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp. Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp is scenically located in a glade, known as “the place of the klipspringer” Mbuzi Mawe and along one of the main annual migration corridors for over one million wildebeest, half a million zebras and gazelles, and their accompanying cast of predators. Mbuzi Mawe is a place of infinite calm, surrounded by untamed majesty and offers a timeless blend of classical safari rusticity and the world-class accommodation

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Today enjoy early morning, mid morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti which is internationally renowned for the greatest wildlife spectacle on the planet. Located in North West of Tanzania, Serengeti is the ultimate ‘wildlife show’ on earth and best known for its unequalled natural beauty and diverse wildlife. As such, it offers the most complex and least disturbed ecosystem on earth. Serengeti’s unique combination of diverse habitats enables it to support more than 30 species of large herbivores and nearly 500 species of birds. Its landscape varies from open grass plains in the south, savannah with scattered acacia trees in the centre, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west

Day 5: Serengeti/Ngorongoro Crater

Breakfast and depart for the Ngorongoro Crater arriving for lunch at Exploreans Ngorongoro. On the way, you will make a brief visit to Oldupai Gorge (originally misnamed Olduvai) which is the most famous archaeological location in East Africa. It’s here at that that the remains of the earliest humans were found making Africa the “Cradle of Mankind”. Proceed on with your journey into Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world and shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens anywhere in the world. Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World and hosts the most unique ecosystem on earth with 20,000 large grazing mammals and the largest concentration of predators. Overnight Exploreans Lodge.This lodge is set in 50 acres of virgin Tanzanian bush in the Ngorongoro volcanic landscape, this all suites wood log cabin style retreat features 20 spacious private log cabins with fire place, a restaurant, a bar and swimming pool

Day 6: Ngorongoro /Lake Manyara

Breakfast and depart for Lake Manyara arriving for lunch at Escarpment Lodge. This afternoon enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park and hopefully get to see the famous tree climbing lions. The park is renowned for offering truly remarkable and most intimate wildlife experience. Vast herds of elephant and buffalo, thousands of flamingos, cheetah, Maasai giraffe, impala olive baboons, Sykes monkeys and hippo are to be found here. Overnight Escarpment Lodge.Escarpment Lodge nestles into the edge of the escarpment which towers over Lake Manyara National Park. It boasts 16 excellently appointed and private chalets. Each chalet has its own private deck from which you can view the lake below and watch wildlife as it drifts through the lodge grounds. Abundant bird life fills the trees and bushes which grow right up to your deck

Day 7: Lake Manyara/Tarangire

After breakfast, check out and drive to Tarangire National Park arriving for lunch at Tarangire Treetops Lodge. Enjoy afternoon game drive to view great variety of wildlife found in this area. Tarangire National Park is the fourth largest National Park in Tanzania and its very diverse habitats, supporting an equally rich variety of mammals, birds and flora, make it a delight to explore. Magnificent 1000-year-old giant Baobab trees punctuate the park and large herds of elephant and other game seasonally swell the large numbers of game. Overnight Tarangire Treetops Lodge. Tarangire Treetops Lodge sits serenely in a private game reserve bordering the Tarangire National Park. Treetops comprises of 20 tree houses all of which are elevated above the ground affording views over the tops of surrounding marula and baobab trees. Each tree house boasts one of the largest bedrooms to be found in any lodge in East Africa  all with an exotic double shower en suite bathrooms

Day 8: Tarangire/Arusha

Breakfast and depart for Arusha arriving for lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge. Thereafter transfer to the airport for your onward departure flight
