Nairobi, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Naivasha, Maasai Mara


Day 1: Nairobi/Amboseli

Depart Nairobi the “place of cool waters” in the Maasai language  arriving Amboseli National Park for lunch at Amboseli Serena Lodge which enjoys a uniquely privileged position at the heart of this world-famous national reserve, providing very clear and uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive returning back to the lodge for dinner. Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”and it is one of the best places in Africa to view big herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli  to woodlands. Overnight: Amboseli Serena Lodge

DAY 2: Amboseli National Reserve

Today game drives in this magnificent park located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Amboseli comprises of grove of acacia trees and golden savannah plains and close by are a series of emerald green swamps, which are fed by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro providing sources of water to huge numbers of wallowing elephants, hippos, buffalos and plains game. DAY 3: Amboseli/Great Rift Valley

Breakfast and continue on with your journey to the picturesque Great Rift Valley arriving for lunch at Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge located on the shores of Lake Naivasha which is a freshwater lake and is home to an incredible variety of bird species.The Great Rift Valley is a name given to the continuous geographic trench, approximately 6,000 kilometres in length, that runs from Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley in Asia to Mozambique in Southeastern Africa. This afternoon enjoy a relaxing boat ride and visit to the Crescent Island. Here you will get to see giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, eland and many gazelles in very tranquil environment. Overnight at Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge

DAY 4: Lake Nakuru/Naivasha

Breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving for lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Later proceed for an afternoon game drive in this world famous wildlife habitat offering a wide ecological diversity, from lakeshore, woodlands, grassy plains to rocky escarpments and ridges. Lake Nakuru Park is home to large protected flocks of lesser flamingoes which turn the lake vivid pink. It is also famous for pelicans, black and white rhino, colobus monkeys, as well as, numerous antelopes, buffalo and giraffe. Overnight: Sarova Lion Hill Lodge

DAY 5: Lake Nakuru/Maasai Mara

Leaving the Great Rift Valley behind, you will head out to Maasai Mara, which is world famous and Kenya’s premier game reserve, arriving for lunch at Ilkeliani Tented Camp which is nestled in a river glade in an area favourite for elephants coming to drink from the Talek River. After a warm welcome and delightful lunch, embark on a game drive with your driver guide in Maasai Mara which is the ancestral home to the Maasai people. The reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland.Wildlife tends to be most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing late October. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant and it is for this reason that a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino). Overnight: Ilkeliani Tented Camp

DAY 6: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Today enjoy game drives in the Mara that will include visit to the Mara River, where thousands of wildebeest and zebra are attacked by crocodiles as they attempt to cross this mighty river during the annual migration between Tanzania and Kenya. The annual migration sees over a million wild animals move from Serengeti National Park in Northern Tanzania to Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Overnight: Ilkeliani Tented Camp

DAY 7: Maasai Mara/Nairobi

Breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. You will be dropped off either at your Nairobi Hotel or at the airport for your departure flight.
