Wildlife Footsteps Trail


Nairobi, Aberdares, Samburu, Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru, Lake Elementaita, Maasai Mara


Day 1: Nairobi /Aberdares

Depart Nairobi in 4×4 safari vehicle for the Aberdares arriving for lunch at Aberdare Country Club. Later in the afternoon, you will be transferred to The Ark Forest Lodge which is tucked into the thick, verdant forests of Aberdares National Park. The Aberdare Range (formerly the Sattima Range, Kikuyu: Nyandarua) is a 160 kilometres long mountain range located in Nyandarua County, on the western side of central Kenya and south of the Equator. Overnight game viewing at The Ark Forest Lodge



Day 2: Aberdares/Samburu

Breakfast and head north to Samburu Game Reserve located in the Northern Frontier District. Arrive for lunch at Elephant Bedroom Camp, located in a rugged landscape on the banks of Uaso Nyiro River surrounded by doum palms and other indigenous trees offering great natural scenery. Later in the afternoon, proceed for an afternoon game drive in the expansive Samburu Game Reserve. Overnight at Elephant Bedroom Camp




DAY 3: Samburu Game Reserve

Whole day spent in Samburu Game Reserve with game drives. Samburu plays host to large herds of elephants. Other unique wildlife specifies are also very common sightings in this part of the wilderness. The Uaso Nyiro River is a great point of concentration and interest to both visitors and wildlife. It forms the lifeline of this great reserve and most animals cannot keep away from it as they come to quench their thirst from the river. Overnight at Elephant Bedroom Camp

Day 4: Samburu / Great Rift Valley

Breakfast and drive past Mount Kenya into the Great Rift Valley arriving for lunch at Sunbird Lodge located on the shores of Lake Elementaita. Proceed for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park which a world famous wildlife habitat is offering a wide ecological diversity, from lakeshore, woodlands, grassy plains to rocky escarpments and ridges.  Overnight at Sunbird Lodge

 Day 5: Lake Elementaita/Maasai Mara

Leaving the Great Rift Valley behind, you will head out to Maasai Mara, which is the most outstanding wildlife sanctuary and Kenya’s premier game reserve arriving for lunch at Kicheche Mara Camp. Kicheche is very intimate and classic tented camp hidden in a beautiful acacia valley overlooking the Olare Orok stream. Overnight at  Kicheche Mara Camp


Day 6: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Today enjoy game drives in the Mara that will include visit to the Mara River, where thousands of wildebeest and zebra are attacked by crocodiles as they attempt to cross this mighty river during the annual migration between Tanzania and Kenya. The annual migration sees over a million wild animals move from Serengeti National Park in Northern Tanzania to Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Overnight at Kicheche Mara Camp

Day 7: Maasai Mara/Nairobi

Breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. You will be dropped off either at your Nairobi Hotel or at the airport for your departure flight.
