A deposit of 20% of the total safari price is required at the time of confirmation of safari arrangements. The remainder of the total quoted tour price is due 45 days before the departure date. If your safari is made within 45 days of departure, the entire cost of the trip must be paid in full on confirmation. Credit Card (Visa & Mastercard) and Direct bank transfer are the only accepted methods of payment.
We can accept payment by credit card but there are a couple of drawbacks: We have to pay the credit card company 5% on any transaction here in Kenya and we add this as a 5% admin charge to the total invoice charges.
In order to counteract fraud, commercial banks here are very fussy about any transactions that are processed when the card-holder is not actually present in Kenya. They require us to obtain a legible photocopy of the card-holder’s passport and the actual credit card, in addition to a letter of authorization from the cardholder confirming we may charge the card and providing us with the following info: Cardholder’s name as it appears on the card, card-holder’s billing address, Visa or MasterCard number, expiry date, the security code and the amount to be charged.
Most of our clients find all this too much of a hassle and prefer to remit payment by direct bank transfer. All bank charges arising from direct bank transfer transactions can be charged to ourselves.
Our cancellation policy is dictated upon by the fact that hotels, lodges, regional airlines and other fully contracted local service providers will charge us cancellation fees if a booking is cancelled or amended. Any cancellation fees charged is aimed at minimizing the financial impact on our business and on our partners. But as a company, we will take every reasonable step at our disposal to minimize or eliminate if possible, these cancellation charges on our clients.
Cancellation charges are as follows:
All quoted tour prices include accommodations based on double occupancy. There is a supplemental fee for single occupancy accommodations. In some lodges, children of certain age are not permitted unless where advised accordingly.
Meals and any drinks included in the safari price will be stated in the itinerary.
You may take along two normal size pieces suitcases, not exceeding a total of 15 kilos per person. On charter flights within East Africa, baggage allowance may be less and soft bags are recommended. Arrangements can be made for safe storage of extra luggage while on safari.
Charges for hotel taxes are included, as well as game park entrance fees and to all wildlife conservancies included in the itinerary. Tips for driver-guides and escorts are not included and are at the guest’s discretion.
The following items are not included in quoted safari prices: costs of obtaining passports or visas; personal expenses such as beverages, laundry and room service; gratuities to your safari escort, camp staff, driver-guides; excess baggage fees; communication charges and airport departure taxes.
We strongly recommend you obtain short-term Travel insurance policy to cover baggage loss, accident, medical emergencies and trip cancellation.
